I didn’t know you is a melancholic song and bittersweet slice-of-life about what it means to get to know a loved one. Not just who they are, but also who they are not. Finding out what they mean to you and what you mean to them. It’s about getting to know yourself through them, and getting being confronted with eachothers self perception. It is the realization that getting to know them is a process that never ends.

I didn’t know you was co-produced by Karl Coutelle. It’s the first co-production on a song of Toon Bosch. Fitting the theme of exploring what it means to get to know eachother, Karl and Toon spend a good year on the song, getting to know eachother musically and in life.
